I hate being fed up...almost as much as I do being aggravated...and I was plenty aggravated bout a week and half ago...

Weekend before last Dad had to go to the ER...he was having pain up and down his right side...from the bottom of his rib cage to his shoulder...none in his chest...just in the side...so they do all these tests and can't figure it out...so they give him pain meds and send him home...although they did hit him with one that hit him faster and harder than any I have ever seen *Grins at that memory*...anyhow...he seemed to be doing a little better...then a couple days later...it comes back and I mean big time...but it's just in one spot this time..so we go back...and they do an ultrasound and some blood tests...hit him with some more of that med...I've never seen my father in that much pain...scared the hell outtta me I have to say...

After all this...the doc comes in...goes right to Dad's bedside...and says "Sir...do you drink?"...to which Dad almost says "Yeah doesn't everybody...I drink tea and soda and stuff"...but then he figures out he means alcohol...which he does from time to time but not to the degree this dude is asking about...I think "Oh great...he's gonna say it's Dad's liver."...so when Dad says he doesn't drink...the doc goes ok what meds are you on...and Dad is on several ...cause we think you have pancreatiitis (inflamed pancreas cause I can spell that damn word right )...and the only things we can figure are causeing it is alcohol or meds...so we go thru the list...and sure enough...Dad is on two that are known to cause this from time to time...now the one he'd been on for years with no probs...so Doc figures it's the new one that Dad had just been put on...but to be safe...Dad has been taken off both...which works out cause his reg doc wants to put him on something else that will do the same thing as the other two are supposed to...without pissing off Dad's pancreas...as the nurse who explained the condition to me put it ...she's taken care of my Dad before so she drops the medspeak around me ...

So...they told Dad that until his system gets rid of the meds on it's own...he's not to eat anything fried and or greasy...he forgot once a couple days later and found out what happens if he ignores that advice...but he is much better now...he's not having any pain and talked to his reg Doc who figures he'll be fully recovered by end of the month...but still wants Dad to take it slow till then...

Yeah me too...although it was weird the way the Doc just came out and asked "Do you drink?"...instead of saying "We think it's this but we don't know for sure what is causing it so I need to ask a couple questions" or something like that...oh well that place never makes any sense anyways...

Today I'm doing ok...lil bored...not working at the shop today cause Boss has an electrician in working on some wiring issue...nothing major serious but this was the only day the guy could come in...and Boss just closed the shop down since the power has to be off for a while...I mean it's nice having the day off...but JL isn't awake yet...and I am for some reason I haven't yet figured out ...so I'm a little bored right this moment..and we all know how dangerous that can be ...
